Loss is experienced in many forms: the end of a relationship\, the loss of a job\, a life-changing illness\, accident\, or death\, to name a few. If you are experiencing grief in any form\, you are welcome to join our fellowship. \nThere are two available meeting times:\n\nTuesdays online\, starting January 21\, 6 p.m.\nWednesdays on campus\, starting January 22\, 6:30 p.m.\n\nWhat is Grief?\n\nThe conflict between what we want and the reality of what we have.\nThe desire to change yesterday when that is not possible.\n\nWhat is Recovery?\n\nLearning to live a “new normal.”\nA choice you make.\nIt takes time and effort and does not come with a “how to” book.\n\nTestimonies\n“The personal experiences of the leaders truly added to the understanding and value of the content.” \n“All the various stages\, experiences\, feelings that one can go through are normal.” \n“A systematic exploration of the grief process.”

DESCRIPTION:“None of us can fully escape the blindness of our age\, but we shall certainly increase it\, and weaken our guard against it\, if we read only modern books. Where they are true they will give us truths which we half knew already. Where they are false they will aggravate the error with which we are already dangerously ill. The only palliative is to keep the clean sea breeze of the centuries blowing through our minds\, and this can be done only by reading old books.” —C.S. Lewis \nAs Christians\, we have great reason to devote ourselves to the great books of the past. For in the great works of Christian history\, we find not only a corrective to our own errors\, but also a rich source of wisdom from those whose minds have been sanctified and transformed by the Holy Spirit. Reading old books is helpful. Reading the great books of the Christian tradition is vital. \nReading with the Saints is an opportunity to read some of the greatest and most influential books in Christian history\, one selection per month\, then discuss the profound and enduring questions posed by each text. What is the gospel? Who is Jesus Christ? What does it mean to follow him? How should the church relate to surrounding cultures? And what is distinctive about the Christian way of life? \n\nRegister below to join the group. Meetings are on Mondays monthly\, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and will include time for teaching\, discussion\, and prayer.\nParticipants are asked\, if at all possible\, to read the assigned text prior to the meeting. PDF copies are available for download on this page and\, alternatively\, can be purchased from the Bookstore.\nChildcare is available by reservation.
